Smart charging - what is it?
Smart charging is intelligent functions that automate, optimize, and improve the efficiency of charging electric cars. Smart charging is a key element in integrating electric vehicles into modern energy networks, contributing to more sustainable energy use.
Smart charging - for whom?

For home - dynamic charging power to protect your connection (DLB)
With an integrated energy meter, the wallbox can be installed even with limited power, using only the available power to charge the electric car

For home - charging your car with solar power
Integrating the energy meter with the Green Wallbox 2 Pro allows you to charge your car only with surplus electricity fed into the grid. Maximize self-consumption and save on electricity.

For businesses
Smart charging with a Group Charging feature lets multiple electric vehicles charge at the same time, efficiently managing available power. Ideal for multi-bay parking, it uses charging infrastructure effectively without overloading the network. This saves energy costs and provides more convenience for employees with electric vehicles.

For homeowner association
Efficient energy management allows multiple electric vehicles to charge at once, preventing grid overload. Residents can charge without energy issues, and smart charging during off-peak hours lowers electricity bills. Convenient and accessible charging improves the electric vehicle experience. Using renewable energy sources and efficient charging supports sustainability and reduces the carbon footprint. Investing in modern charging tech also boosts property value and attracts eco-conscious buyers or tenants.

Our Smart Charging system, combining Dynamic Power Management with Group Charging, allows more charging stations to be installed in multifamily buildings than the current available power would typically permit. It does this by monitoring the entire building's power usage and utilizing available power for car charging. The intelligent power distribution evenly allocates charging power to all stations.

Also...
Our Smart Charging system isn't just for multifamily buildings! It's also useful for parking spaces in hotels, large parking lots, stores, and restaurants.
Dynamic Load Balancing (DLB)
Dynamic Load Balancing (DLB) monitors available energy resources and adjusts charging power among devices in real-time. If high-energy devices are active, DLB can lower car charging power to prevent overloading the network.

Eco charging
The eco charging feature ensures electric vehicles charge primarily when the solar system generates enough energy. This maximizes renewable energy usage and minimizes reliance on the electrical grid.

Group charging
Group charging allows multiple electric vehicles to charge simultaneously using a single charging system. This feature is designed for multi-bay parking lots but is also useful in residential settings, such as when there's a need to charge two electric vehicles at once.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a photovoltaic system to use the smart charging feature?
No, it’s not necessary. Smart charging can work as a protection for your connection, reducing the charging power of your car when other devices in your home start consuming more energy.
Do I need an energy meter?
Yes, an energy meter is an essential component
What is the minimum surplus energy required to feed back into the grid to start charging?
To start charging, the minimum surplus is 6A (in total across all phases, meaning for a three-phase installation, a 2A surplus per phase is enough to trigger charging with 6A on one phase).
Does the wallbox allow phase switching?
Yes, with the eco charging option, the wallbox will automatically adjust the power and number of phases used based on the current surplus. For example, when the surplus is 2kW, charging will occur on a single phase, while if the surplus increases to 4.2kW, the device will switch to three-phase charging.
